Things to Prepare

I have been thinking more about the techniques of my major project and how I will actually be animating my narrative. Because I want the animation to be cave painting styled, I will be using chalks/charcoals/pastels on a large slate to give the piece a textured and more authentic feel.
At first my concerns were how I would be able to smoothly animate my story with the lack of seeing the previous frame once I wipe it off of the stone slate. However, after some thinking I decided that it would be a more simple and efficent if I animated the sequence first using Adobe Flash, and then project the frames onto the slate to trace over the top. This will mean that I will have to invest in a small projector to use for the animation and also some materials for the animation such as pastels chalks or charcoal. I already have a large slate-like slab to animate onto, a DLR camera and tripod. I also need to buy DragonFrame so that I can animate my short film in a professional manner and give it a high quality look.
