Pre Vis Week 8: Interpretation

After adding some final touches to my storyboard animatic sequence, I started to think about interpretation and how it is relevant to this workshop. After watching the original clip from 1947 Kiss of Death, I found it difficult to think of my own interpretation of the story and how I could change the context or atleast the flow of the character's movements.
To me, the story seems to revolv around the male character, Nick, who is worried about a mob/gang that he was originally associated with, coming back to get rid of him for doing them wrong in some way.
Because of this, I immediately thought of cats, because they are usually seen as quite stealthy and sly. This is in relation to the fact that he was once apart of a gang, maybe some alleycats, who are quite streetwise and maybe got into an argument about territorial issues or even something to do with his current wife? Because of the thought of alleycats, I also got the idea that If I could alleyways, that could be pictured as quite dark and mysterious settings, perfect with keeping within the Film Noir characteristics. However, after some time searching online for free cat rigs, I could not find any, but I did manage to get some nice fox rigs which work reasonably well within Maya. Foxes still work pretty well and in a way work even better than my original idea, because they are not so well known as domesticated pets and have a more threatening animalistic
