With the first storyboard brief finished and nearly edited together with the audio, we are now starting to think about our re-construction of the audio clip with a different setting and characters etc. We are able to choose between a style of our own or stick with the Noir theme. Sticking with the theme allows less research into the style, because we have already created one storyboard and know the techniques.

We also did some book research and looked into the real essence of what makes Film Noir son iconic. According to Silver and Ursini (1999) Film Noir: Reader, 'It is the presence of crime which gives Film Noir it's most constant characteristic. "The dynamism of violent death," is how Nino Frank evoked it, and the point is well taken. 'Blackmail, accusation, theft or drug trafficking set the stage for narrative where life and death are at stake'.

This quote clearly states all prime factors of what makes a Film Noir what it is, and has deffinitely helped me brainstorm some ideas for the second storyboard workshop. I intend to stick with the Noir essence, but play around with the characters and scene setting. Even though these are very important aspects of the Noir, I have a lot of scope to play around with aslong as I had these key factors.
