This week was mainly for the continuation of our storyboards and scanning them into the computer as a digital version, ready for editing together with the audio track. Here is an example storyboard from Ridley Scott's Blade Runner. Though typically seen as a Sci-Fi this film contains some Noir aspects which deffinitely shows in the original storyboards for the film. In the "Kiss of death" the tonal variations between the light and shadows are clear, and throughout the scene the man was mostly in darkness whilst the woman was almost completely enveloped in light, simialr to a halo effect. This could signify purity in the woman, innocence and grace. Whereas the man surrounded in darkness conveys mystery and suspicion, as if he has committed a crime of some sort and is not entirely innocent as opposed to the woman. He is constantly nervous and seems paranoid everytime car lights pass the window. A slatted window blind effect is created everytime this occurs, one of the typical Film Noir elements.
