After taking a trip to the Tate Modern, we discovered some useful techniques and inspiration from other modernist artists displayed in the gallery. I found many works of art usful for the ADUNA projct because of their brightvibrant use of colour and also the very bold shapes, which would relate to the use of shapes in fruit.
The artists I found particularly inspiring include: Robert Delaunay, Barbara Hepworth, Li Yuan-Chia, Ellsworth Kelly, Josef Albers, Larry Bell and Sergio Camargo. In detail, many of these use bright colours and clear shaopes. However some of the others use sculptures, which inspire me due to the variety of ways they displayed their work. Yuan-Chia for example suspended huge plastic discs from the ceiling like a children's mobile. Which could be quite interesting when used with fruit.Hepworth aswell uses culptures, but diffrent to Yuan-Chia, she carves unique shapes from marble-like material. One of her sculptures I particularly liked, due to a circle cut through the middle of the rock. This could be interesting to experiment with fruit and a light box.

Modernism arose in the early 19th century and late 20th century followed by the First World War
2. What did modernist art movement such as Expressionism challenge about more traditional forms of art, and why?
Modernist art and Expressionism allows the artist to portray the world through their own eyes and mind rather than how previous artists had painted the world as it truly is in a more realistic form. It challenged previous conventions of painting and proved that the most realistic methods were not always the most artistic.
3. How is Expressionist painting simiar to modernist music?
Modernist art expresses emotion similar to music, by including rhythm and beats. Both forms of which can be translated by the viewer both visually and audibly.
4. What do we experience by watching experimental animation?
Experimental animation allows the viewer to feel different emotional changes al influenced by colours, shapes, speed and the sounds that are played.
5. What is Leitmotif?
Leitmotif are representations that the audience makes from certain visuals and sounds. Similar to stereotypes, we gather assumptions of genre from these key elements.
